Rapid Prototyping Services

Due to popular demand, we are now offering rapid prototyping services for companies in Singapore.

Some typical question about this service and their respective answers follow.

Q1   How is the service provided?
Answer

The client has to provide us with a 3-D file of the prototype that needs to be built. Ideally, the file format is in STL and with accompanying information on model measurements.

Based on the 3-D file and any accompanying instructions from the client, we will assess the feasibility of building the prototype and quote the charges accordingly.

The customer can, after reviewing the quote, decide if he wants to use our services.

Asssuming client accepts our quote, the build is done at the 3-D modeling workshop and item is delivered to client.

Q2   Are there any charges for getting a quote?
Answer   We do not have plans to charge for providing a quote.

Q3   Is there any way of getting a quote without giving a 3-D data file?
Answer   It would be impossible to quote without a 3-D data file from client.

Q4   What is the cost of producing a prototype?
Answer

The cost is derived by a combination of factors
- amount of build and support material that is going to be consumed by the 3-D model
- machine running time
- shipping and special packaging
- pre-build work on 3-D data

The cost can only be assessed after we have received the 3-D data and all pertinent factors are considered.

Q5   Can the prototype service be used to create replacement machinery parts?
Answer   Currently our service is to build 3-D models for the various aspects of design processes and artistic expression only.  The models are not built for mechanical strength.
