Simlab's 3D PDF Exporter plug-in for CAD is the best way to share 3D models with other users with no loss of details and also without the need to give away proprietory CAD data.

Using Adobe PDF Reader*, technical and non-technical users can navigate and view the 3D models with ease.

Simlab has several versions of CAD to 3D PDF plug-ins

• 3D PDF from Rhino
• 3D PDF from Google SketchUp
• 3D PDF from 3ds Max
• 3D PDF from Maya

*Adobe Reader version 9 or later required to open 3D PDF files

All the different version of the plug-in have the following common features.

Camera Manager.  The default views in the host 3D applications will be listed inside the Simlab exporter plug-in.  The user will have an option to select from those views and present as default views inside the 3D PDF file.

Model Tree.  The layer and objects inside the host CAD application are presented as a model tree inside the 3D PDF.  Using the Model Tree, the person viewing the 3D PDF can hide and show parts of the 3D model.

Prepend Documents.  The user can select other documents, PDF and non-PDF file format, to append to the 3D PDF file.  This will be useful for including documents like company letter-heads, reports, etc.

File Password.  To add more security to the 3D PDF files, a password can be set to prevent unauthorised opening of the file.

Page Settings.  The user can define the following

• page size
• background image and colour
• page margins
• header / footer

3D Settings.  The user can define the following

• show or hide 3D toolbar when file is opened in Adobe Reader
• default navigation mode set to spin, rotate or walk
• default render mode to be solid, wireframe, shaded, etc.

Advance Edit.  Advanced users can insert Java scripts to control both the PDF document and 3D models in it.

Simlab 3D PDF from Rhino is compatible with Rhino 4.0 (Win 32bit), Rhino 5 Beta (Win 32bit) and Rhino 5 Beta (Win 64bit).

3D PDF files created by the application can be opened in Win and Mac.
